Novel Writing - Moving it On (25th - 30th July 2010)
This is an intermediate course taking place at the University of Newport (Caerleon Campus) from 25th - 30th July 2010. It is for those who have completed the first 2-3 chapters and synopsis of a novel. Class limited to 20. Students wishing to attend this course must send in their first chapter and synopsis to Gerry Hobbs by the end of May 2010. (NB: Please do NOT send work directly to me. It will be returned unopened.) - Three Courses for Writers' Summer School at Swanwick in Derbyshire
- Four Courses for Writers' Holiday at Caerleon College, Newport, Wales
- In 1991 I began a series of ten-week courses on the Art & Craft of Novel Writing for Falmouth/Penryn Adult Education Centre. As a result of these courses six of my former students are now published authors. Three of these authors have now acquired agents, and at the end of 2006 one has had five novels published, one has had three, and another her first. All three have new books coming out during the next twelve months and are currently working on new novels

From 2002 to 2004 I was a part-time tutor at University College Falmouth teaching The Craft of Novel Writing to students taking the Post-Graduate Diploma in Professional Writing. During this period the Professional Writing programme was upgraded to an MA/PG Dip. I also teach short courses on The Craft of Novel Writing for UCF's Business Relations dept, the college's link with the general public.
