I've finished my latest book
I wrote the final line at 5.15pm yesterday (Friday)  How's that for timing?  It has worked out at 91,500 words.  I'm setting it aside for several days now for two reasons: 1. it will allow me a fresh perspective when I do the final read-through and edit before I post the manuscript to my agent. 2:  I'm packing today to leave at 9.30am on Sunday morning for Writers' Holiday at Caerleon Campus, Newport, South Wales, where I'll be leading the Intermediate Novel course.  When I get back, and once the final revision is done and the book has been posted, I'll file all my research info in case I need it for another book, then clean out my tip of an office.  Doing that helps me to say good bye to characters and events I have lived with for nine months.  I've loved writing this story as it features one of the characters in Devil's Prize. At the end of that story Jenefer Trevanion had lost her father, her home and her fiance.  I've written two more books since then: Bonded Heart and Heart of Stone.  But my thoughts kept returning to Jenefer, wondering what happened to her, how she rebuilt her life.  In writing Taken to Heart I found out, and it was a really emotional roller-coaster ride.
